Happy Labor Day and Goodbye Summer...

I don't know where summer went this year.  It absolutely flew by.  In fact, I feel like I have worn my linen items once, laundered them, and left them in the laundry room for ironing.  Now the question is, do I iron them and put them away for next year?  Iron and wear them now (rebelling against the rules)?  Wear them wrinkled now and really be a rule-breaker?  So many options.

This has been a very lazy weekend.  Chores were done (slowly), and naps were bountiful.  Last night we gathered with neighbors, ate delicious food, and laughed hard while the kids ran around with flashlights looking for frogs.  We purchased a new soccer ball for our dog, Xiggy, as an end-of-summer present.  He wagged with glee, and managed to keep it inflated for about 37 seconds before the long sssssssssssssssssss.......... was heard.  Still, he has been carrying it into and out of the house repeatedly, daring all of us to try to play tug-of-war or catch with him.

I find it difficult when the sun begins to set earlier each day.  But there are so many festivities that bring family and friends together from fall through New Year's, that it seems to balance out.  I know the staff at RightTime KiDS gets very excited planning all the fun parties, activities, special snacks and innovative art projects that center on the many upcoming seasonal themes.  I hope we have lots of children popping in to take advantage of all the creative flurry.  It's been a good summer, and I've enjoyed seeing so many of our regular families, and meeting such a large number of new ones.

Enjoy this short week.  See you soon.
